We teamed up with White Mountain Metals on a new condo build in Acton, helping set the beams and columns that will carry this structure for decades. This is the kind of work where there's zero margin for error - everything has to be plumb, level, and welded solid before the rest of the build can move forward.
Column base welds are one of those details that nobody ever sees once the building goes up, but they matter more than almost anything else on the job. Each column gets welded down to its base plate, which is anchored to the concrete foundation below. That connection is what transfers all the load from the structure above into the ground. We don't rush it.
Getting steel up on a job like this takes coordination. You've got a telehandler swinging heavy beams into position while we're on the ground making sure everything lands where it needs to. Once it's set, we weld it off and move to the next one. It's methodical work, and that's exactly how it should be.
Our custom welding and fabrication work fits naturally into projects like this - whether we're fabricating connection plates, welding columns to base plates, or helping a GC or steel sub get their frame in the air. We work clean, we work safe, and we show up ready to keep the job moving.
